The fine is in accordance with Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which addresses minimum over-rate requirements.

In addition to Patidar’s fine, the rest of the RCB Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each penalized either INR 6 lakhs or 25% of their match fee, whichever was lesser.

SRH Captain Pat Cummins Penalized for First Offense

Pat Cummins, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, was also fined after his team committed their first slow over-rate offence of IPL 2025. As per IPL regulations, Cummins was fined INR 12 lakhs for the violation during the same match.

Match Venue and Context

The match took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, and was a crucial fixture as both teams are vying for playoff positions.
