Israeli Strikes Kill 46 in Gaza, 31 Dead in School Shelter: Medics

On May 26, 2025, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of at least 52 individuals, including 36 people who were sheltering in a school in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood. The Israeli military stated that the school was being used as a command center by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Another strike in northern Gaza killed 16 members of the same family.

The conflict, reignited in March after a broken ceasefire, has led to widespread destruction and displacement.
