Prime Minister Narendra Modi today graced the annual National Cadet Corps (NCC) PM Rally held at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi. Addressing an audience that included over 2,300 cadets and youth from across India and 18 friendly nations, Shri Modi underscored the pivotal role of youth in shaping a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) during the Amrit Kaal.

The Prime Minister’s participation included witnessing vibrant cultural performances, presenting the Best Cadet Awards, and inaugurating several NCC campaigns aimed at blending India’s heritage with the aspirations of its youth. Shri Modi extended a warm welcome to the cadets and congratulated those joining the rally virtually through the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) portal.

A Legacy of Inspiration and Growth

Highlighting the NCC’s establishment alongside India’s independence, Shri Modi noted the institution’s significant contribution to nation-building and discipline among youth. Over the years, the NCC’s reach has grown remarkably, with cadet numbers increasing from 14 lakh in 2014 to 20 lakh today, including over 8 lakh girls. The expansion of NCC into border and coastal districts has empowered youth in these regions while enhancing disaster management capabilities and sports excellence.

Shri Modi proudly stated that the NCC stands as the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, inspiring generations to contribute to India’s development.

Youth as a Force for Global Good

Emphasizing the global influence of Indian youth, the Prime Minister highlighted their achievements in startups, unicorns, and leadership roles in major global companies. “India’s youth are not only driving the nation’s progress but are also a force for global good,” he remarked, citing the transformative contributions of Indian scientists, researchers, and innovators.

Shri Modi also reflected on the removal of barriers that previously hindered youth opportunities. He cited reforms such as self-attestation of documents, streamlined scholarship systems, and flexible subject choices under the National Education Policy as examples of progress. These changes have unlocked the potential of India’s youth, making them critical players in shaping a brighter future for the nation.

Supporting Young Entrepreneurs and Voters

The Prime Minister discussed the success of the Mudra Yojana, which provides collateral-free loans to young entrepreneurs. Over the past decade, ₹40 lakh crore has been disbursed under the scheme, enabling millions to launch businesses.

On the topic of electoral participation, Shri Modi highlighted the importance of National Voters Day in encouraging young citizens to engage in democracy. He urged the youth to actively discuss “One Nation, One Election,” emphasizing its potential to streamline governance and reduce electoral challenges.

Vision for a Developed India

As India enters the Amrit Kaal, the Prime Minister urged the youth to align their aspirations with the nation’s goal of becoming a developed country. He called upon them to embrace the “Panch Pran”—building a developed India, shedding colonial mindsets, celebrating heritage, promoting unity, and fulfilling civic duties. These guiding principles, he said, will ensure the nation’s progress and strengthen its unity.

Celebrating Unity in Diversity

The cultural program, featuring over 800 cadets, highlighted the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat” (One India, Great India). Cadets from 18 foreign nations added an international dimension to the event, while over 650 volunteers from MY Bharat and other ministries attended as special guests.

The theme of this year’s NCC PM Rally, “Yuva Shakti, Viksit Bharat,” underscored the immense potential of India’s youth as catalysts for transformation.

Concluding Remarks

Shri Modi concluded his address by encouraging cadets to embrace their duties and contribute to a grand and developed India. Recalling lines he had penned to motivate the nation’s youth, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt wishes for their bright future.

The rally, a culmination of the month-long NCC Republic Day Camp 2025, showcased the strength, diversity, and dedication of India’s youth, symbolizing their unwavering commitment to nation-building.

With leaders such as Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and top military officials in attendance, the event served as a testament to the critical role of youth in shaping the nation’s destiny.
